Bio-Identical Hormones and Cancer Safety

There is a tremendous amount of ignorance amongst mainstream medicine regarding cancer and hormones.  It is true that synthetic, chemically altered hormones definitely increase cancer risks of all types in women.  But bio-identicals do not.

This is intuitive because synthetic, chemically altered hormones like Premarin, PremPro and all birth control pills are not human, not bio-identical and are foreign substances to the body.  They are poisons.

Bio-identical hormones, on the other hand, are exactly like your own human hormones.  They are not foreign and not perceived by your body as such.  Bio-identical hormones are completely safe and their effects are known and predictable to every college level biology student.

The studies are numerous documenting the myriad of side effects of synthetic, chemically altered hormones.  There is much debate in the medical literature regarding their ability to increase the risk of cancer.  The Mayo clinic has pretty much settled the debate and states unequivocally that synthetic hormones increase breast cancer risk. (Ref: http://www.ditchthepill.org/breastcancer.htm ).

Mainstream medicine largely refuses to recognize the difference between synthetic hormones and bio-identical hormones and lump all hormones into one basket.  They therefore, assume that all hormones can increase cancer risk, when they are badly mistaken.

From the naturalist perspective, if human (bio-identical) hormones caused cancers, one would need to ask, “Why don’t young women aged 18 – 25, when hormones are at their peak get an abundance of cancers?”

“Why don’t pregnant women, whose progesterone and estrogen levels are 100 times higher than normal, get cancers?”

The answer is: they don’t.  Why?  Because Nature would never intend to harm you from your own natural hormones.  The same logic applies to bio-identical hormones, which exactly resemble human hormones.  They don’t cause cancer.

Women who get cancers usually suffer from a deficiency in one or more hormones.  Throw synthetic hormones into the mix and you get confusion and cancer.

Is it safe to take bio-identical hormones if you have breast (or any other) cancer before?

Answer: Yes.

Even if your breast cancer has estrogen-positive and/or progesterone-positive receptors, it is still safe to take bio-identical hormones.

How can I say that?  Because EVERY one of the trillion or so cells in your body have estrogen and progesterone receptors already present.  So the more differentiated your breast cancer the more likely that it has estrogen and/or progesterone receptors present.

Again, Nature would never intend for you to have harmful physiological reactions if your own natural hormones were in normal levels.  If this were so, then the human race would have died out eons ago.  Where we see risk increase is when you have deficiencies of hormones.

So if you have had breast cancer in the past and are experiencing menopausal symptoms, then go right ahead and take those bio-identical estrogen and progesterone supplements as recommended.

There is no reason for you to suffer because of ignorance in the medical community.
